The Swimming Season is officially underway! 6am on Tuesday morning saw our first swimmers in the pool preparing for the season ahead. Our lessons and squads are all running and our first Club Night takes place tomorrow night on the 7th of October.
Our Friday Night Club Nights are a great social environment and everyone is welcome. You do not need to attend Sherwood State School or be a part of our Learn to Swim or Squad programs. Feel free to come down to the pool and experience a night of racing before making a decision regarding the rest of the season.
Children race in 15m, 25m, 50m or 100m races depending on their ability and confidence in the water. They simply choose the races in which they would like to participate. Race registration begins at 5.30pm and will close shortly before 6pm to allow us to begin racing at 6pm. The evening usually concludes by 7.30pm. The cost is $25 per swimmer or $65 for a family…this amount covers Club swimming for Term 4.
As usual, dinner will be available at the Canteen serving Asta’s fabulous meals and the BBQ will be fired up to feed the masses.
Volunteers are an important part of a smooth evening and are required in the Canteen, on the BBQ and for timekeeping. We are always happy to see a familiar face or someone new who is keen to help out!
Lastly a huge thank you to the following families who braved the rain on Monday to prepare the pool grounds for the season…thanks to the Parker, McNamara, Moloney, Tuff, Boothey, Henningham, Chapman, Toomey and Hughes families…superstars!
We look forward to seeing you down in the Shark Tank!
