Now that school and swimming is over for 2013, the Sherwood Sharks Committee would like to thank all of our swimmers and their families for their participation and support for the first half of season 2013-14. We wish you safe travels and hope you have a very relaxing and refreshing Christmas break.
Thanks to all who came along on our last Club night. The novelty races, free swims, dance competitions and party food were enjoyed by kids young and old! Our captains gave lovely speeches to thank Asta, our canteen convenor; Ben, Andrew, and Nikki, our coaches this year; and the parents who ferry them around to training and classes.
Thanks especially to those who donated to Brain Injury Australia – we raised $77.70 which will go towards support and advocacy for those with acquired brain injuries, many resulting from near drowning incidents.
We look forward to catching up with you all in the new year. Mark your diaries with the following dates:
Thursday 30 January 2014 – Sign on day; 3.15 at the pool. Note we still have places available in all Squads; some later times slots available in Squirts; and only a couple of places available in Hammerheads and Nemos. For enquiries about availability please contact Vanessa, our squad co-ordinator.
Sunday 2 February 2014 – Working bee; 9.15 at the pool. Help tidy and prepare the pool area and equipment for both Sherwood Sharks and School Swimming Classes which start in week 2 of school. Many hands make light work: bring your brooms, buckets, cleaning cloths, rubber gloves and gardening tools.
Monday 3 February 2014 – start of squad training, nemos and hammerheads.
Friday 7 February 2014 – start of squirts, skills training and club nights.
Finally, a photo to celebrate the recent grant given for clearing pest trees around the pool and nature area…See you all on pool deck next year!!
